Adoption Information

All of our kittens are sold with a contract which protects them, and you. All of our adults are DNA checked and found clear of HCM, a genetic heart disease, both Ragdoll and Maine Coon mutations. They are all also negative for Feline FIV and Feline Leukemia. They are sold with two sets of kitten shots and have had at least two visits to our veterinarian for shots, well-kitten care, and to be spayed or neutered. The health of our cats and kittens is our first priority.

Our kittens are sold with a 5 year genetic health guarantee. At the unlikely and sad event of the death of a kitten, a necropsy by a licensed veterinarian is to be performed, and your kitten will be replaced as soon as possible with one of similar or better quality, if we are still breeding, if a genetic defect is found. We earnestly pray that this never ever happens. We ask that you take your new kitten to your veterinarian within three business days of purchase to have them completely checked, to rule out any health concerns. If there is a genetic health concern documented by your veterinarian within those three days, we will provide your money back, and we get our kitten back. BellaLuna Ragdolls may never be re-sold or re-gifted without giving us notification and our giving our consent.

All pet and show-alter kittens will always be spayed or neutered before they are placed, no exceptions. Our kittens are never to be allowed outside, nor are they to be declawed.

We breed first for health and soundness, and then for temperament and beauty. Our cats and kittens are raised underfoot, in our home, and only caged at times in a lovely cattery room to either promote breeding or prevent unwanted pregnancy. They are our babies, and we love them each and every one. So when it comes time for adoption, we will be asking lots of questions, and please don't be offended. We want to make absolutely sure that you are ready for and really want a Ragdoll kitten. We think that they are perfection on paws, but they are not for everyone. They are not really loners, and need and want human and/or animal companionship. Some people may prefer a breed that is more independant, with more agility, or that is more vocal, or that is more aloof. Some kittens are rough and tumble and will do well in a household with children and dogs, with lots of action, and some prefer a quieter life without so much action. Hopefully we will have a kitten for everyone, and we will really try to match the right kitten to the right family. We really want everyone to be totally happy about their choice of a BellaLuna Ragdoll kitten, and we want the kitten to be happy, too! When we have kittens for adoption that have been picked by perspective owners, we will provide them with a copy of our contract.

All kittens are priced individually, but some rules of thumb are as follows:

Pet kittens, who have some white where it should not be for standard, or a dark spot where it should not be, or whose confirmation is not absolutely perfect, but who are just as healthy and loveable, if not more so, than our show kitties: $850.00.

Kittens may be priced individually.

Perfectly marked show/alter kittens sold as pets: $1,000.00

Show/Alter kittens, who are as close to standard as is possible with no mismarks and who will be sold with showing rights: $1200.00 to $1500.00.

NO SHOW/BREEDERS WILL BE SOLD FROM THIS CATTERY WITHOUT THE APPROVAL OF MY MENTORS.

Terms of sale: Deposit for spay/neuter may be a check, balance due CASH ONLY on day of pick-up.

We will not take nor do we request a deposit on a kitten until they are over 8 weeks old. We are in this hobby to breed the best Ragdoll we can, love and enjoy our Ragdolls, promote them through showing, our website, and breeding them. When we both decide on a kitten that will be right for you and your family, then I will consider taking a deposit. I want to be happy, I want the new family to be happy, and I want the kitten, most of all, to be happy. I cannot let anyone visit a kitten before they have their vaccinations, because of risk of infection, but will always welcome visits after, and at anytime to meet my show alters, who are wonderful 'floor models' for the breed. We think that Ragdolls are the most excellent thing in the world, and we are proud to share our kitties with others. So schedule a visit today!!
